Red Bull Soapbox Cork 2016
The Nep Ireland crew were in for a rare treat in June as the Red Bull Soapbox Race was held in Cork city at the start of the month.
Having not held a Soapbox Race in Ireland for 12 years, this was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our relationship with an innovative and creative client. The race involves a series of home made go karts launching themselves down the steep St. Patricks Hill through a series of obstacles until they reach the finish. A winner is decided on a points based system that pulls from 3 categories: creativity, performance, and time.
Nep Ireland were on hand to supply 11 cameras (including 2 super-slo cameras, a Jib, and 2 radio cameras), audio for 2 race presenters/commentators and the usually high standard VT required for an event of this scale. The weather on the weekend was incredible, with beautiful sun on both the rig and event days. This helped bring the attendance to 20,000 people lining St. Patrick’s hill and the surrounding streets
